Memory Verse: Genesis 1:14 (King James Version)

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.

Intro: This week the other Teachers and I want to shake things up a bit!  We wanted for everyone to have some fun and have an assignment that would be easy and enjoyable too.  This is a creative blogging assignment but hopefully it will offer help to some newer bloggers still trying to learn “how” to add pictures to their blogs and also help learn your classmates names to easily identify them…and it’s just FUN!

Assignment: This week you are to use your Blog Name (or your own pen/real name) and create signs. There are two ways to do this and you can do one or both ways.
Here are my banners and signs that I’ve made to share with everyone. I have my two of my favorite verses within the signs! They should be easy to spot!  Go to this location and use the Create tab at the top of the page to select All Templates or go to the bottom  of the page and on the left choose Banners
to make your project.  Then follow the directions to copy the code and post it on your blog.  Have Fun!!!  Warning:  This is NOT a christian site!

Website of the Week 1 - 18 - 2009

What a day ! We woke up to snow showers and cold temps. Right now we have several inches on the ground and it is beautiful. Toodles took us riding around earlier today before the roads got bad . This is the big wet sloppy snow that covers everything like sugar. Lovely! It is supposed to snow throughout tonight and tomorrow. It has snowed constantly all day. If it does this tomorrow we will have some fresh snow cream. Yeah!  A big thanks to everyone who has left such great comments on my blog this week, I do appreciate it and I will get around to commenting back. I promise! Well here is the link for this weeks featured website.  I have found some great stuff here. It is one of those great websites where you could spend hours. (If it wasnt for your hubby and kids yelling about needing the computer! I mean really, what could they possibly have to do that is more important than us feeding our "homeschool printables addiction"? We have to notebook right? I mean , what's homeschool without notebooking!?!) Ahem! Anyway , Lesson Snips has some awesome stuff so be sure to check it out. Comment and let me know if you like this website. Blessings everyone and be much in prayer for all the changes our nation will see starting tomorrow. ~ Nikki

And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
(Genesis 7:24 KJV)

Introduction: The only witnesses to the Flood are Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives - 8 people.   And then there’s the animals, 2 of every unclean animal and 7 pairs of every clean animal. When Noah and his family emerged from the ark, they offered sacrifices and praised the Lord for preserving them.

Assignment: What kind of catastrophe have you lived through? Weather? Fire? Car crash? Did you feel the oppression of the power of the disaster, or the protection of the Power of the Lord?  Tell us the story of how you rejoiced and praised Him through it and after it.

Well the big thing for us lately was Toodles losing his job on December 18. it was completely unexpected. He also did not get his CHRISTmas bonus that we were counting on. It took a long time to get his first unemployment check too. Through it all though we have really been able to see God's provision for us. Our wonderful landlord is working with us on the rent , there is food on our table and our bills are being paid. Check out this post for more. I just want to thank God for everything He has done for us. Blessings! ~ Nikki

BFS Assignment #115 - Prayer Box

Memory Verse: Ecclesiastes 3: 1, 2 - To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. Intro: My Prayer Box is a unique personal declaration of faith. It’s a place for our family to lock our worries, wishes, desires and prayers–even keepsakes or photos of loved ones. It’s about gathering thoughts and prayers that allow us to pursue dreams and to recognize that we are never truly alone. My Prayer Box represents faith, which is a force that allows us to believe in things—things you can’t hold in your hand, but can always feel in your heart. Here is a post about prayer boxes and how to get started using them, it’s not too late since it’s early in the year.
Assignment: Tell about your prayer box, if your family has one that you peruse at New Year’s Eve or New year’s Day and share those prayers, thoughts and acts of faith on the next year.
We don't have a Prayer Box at home although we do have one at our church. It is a neat idea that we may incorporate into our family though. Right now I tend to place prayers into my journal. I like to look back at them and see how God has answered them. Writing has always been one of my joys and it is so relaxing too. Blessings! ~ Nikki

New Blog Post Schedule

I'm still here. I have been sickly the last few days and it has been a little hectic around here since the new year began. I have finally gotten around to getting some new ideas going here on my blog. I am now going to be posting a Website of the Week on Mondays. Sometimes I run into these awesome websites that have so much great stuff on them and I stick them in my favorites folder and never share them. Not anymore! Now you can use these great websites too ! Also on Friday I will be doing a Blog of the Week post. There are some great bloggers out there with amazing ideas and advice and I want to share them with you when I find them. I find some of my favorites by taking advantage of my friends' "friends list" so be sure to checkout my friends list. There are some awesome bloggers listed there! Of course there is my Blogger Friend School assignments on Tuesday (which I still need to post for last week , sorry !) and I encourage you to join us! I hope my new postings will be a help to you. You will find them linked to their category on the right sidebar.

Just a little run down on how things are going for us. Toodles is still out of work but God has been ever gracious in supplying our needs. Our bills are getting paid , there is food on our table and everyone is well (except for that nasty little virus that is running amuck). Toodles finally received his first unemployment check Friday. That was a big plus for us. Plus his Mom and Dad have helped us out (BIG THANKS MA & PA AND LOTS OF LOVE BACK AT YA) and my Momma and Daddy have helped us out too (BIG THANKS AND LOTS OF LOVE TO YA"LL TOO). Our Church's Christian school is sponsoring BabyGirl, Tman and Hoopy to attend Regional Student Convention with them this year so they have an awesome oppurtunity to prepare for. I plan on starting work on CHRISTmas gifts for our families soon. Yes they will be homemade but they will have tons of love in them! My bestest friend in the whole world is pregnant again so we will have a new little one in our "family". Check out her blog MyThr33Sons and tell her "CONGRATS!". Well after being silent for so long I fear I am now running on so I will go and I hope you have a Blessed year!  ~ Nikki
