Our Visit To Gray , TN ~ Fossil Museum , The Family Field Trip

Last Saturday we got to go see Sue the T Rex. We had been looking forward to it for a long time. It was awesome. Traveling Sue is an exact replica of the real model of Sue found at the Field Museum in Chicago. Awe inspiring is what comes to mind when you look at her. The size of this animal is unbelievable. What an amazing Creator we have. I am posting some of our pics we took. The lighting wasn't the best for picture taking (for me anyway:)) so some of them look a little fuzzy. Sue will be at the Gray Fossil Museum til April 27 . You should go , really , like right now :) Be advised that they don't follow the "Biblical Timeline" but it is a great teaching oppurtunity do delve into Creation Science with your kids. And even if you don't want to go to the museum take a drive through the I40 - 81 corridor , BEAUTIFUL! The redbuds and other flowering trees are in full bloom . That drive was amazing in itself.

This picture does not do justice to her size. I couldn't get all of her to fit into the frame , you can't see the end of her tail

Some of her teeth were a foot long.

Sue's huge feet.

More teeth.

Sue's skull is about 5 feet long.

And this is a picture of what the drive looks like.

  1. There's a fossil museum in Gray, TN?! Wow. I used to live there and had no idea. How long has it been there? Do you know?

BTW, I linked here from http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/gidget where you had posted a comment.

I like you blog. Like I said I used to live in East TN. My extended family is all from Knoxville. Then I lived in the Kingsport area for 7 years after I was married.

  2. Sorry. I went to the website and answered my own questions. It looks like they made the discovery the same month we were moving away.

As soon as you said, Sue, I knew who you were talking about! We've seen Sue a few times over the years. I didn't know there was a traveling replica, though. That's pretty neat. When we go to the museums here, we are always reminded of how amazing our God is. :')
